People who know me may know I am a big film fan. I have a lots of film cameras and always have 20+ rolls film in my fridge. I will say in all photos I like personally, 30% of them were taken by film.
For me, digital is never a replacement of film. And there is no which one is better either, they just different. I personal don't believe "film is the purest photography". Film and digital are like writing on paper and typing in computer, each one has their own advantage, most importantly, they feels different.

I shoot both film and digital. shooting digital makes me have the ability to do a lot post-editing. Film cameras is more like my personal cameras, I use film to shoot the things I want, usually would be friend and family, or interesting people on street.
So for me, there is no debate between film and digital, because they are totally different things, digital makes photography easier and popular. But film will never die either.
